I'm fortunate to have very close relationships with the hair and makeup artists who work on Broadway. Believe it or not, their secrets are easy to uncover! I hope you enjoy using the producs and methods they use.
There's no competition. Every experienced Santa is using got2b glued products for their beards and mustaches whether they go natural or designer. Schwarzkopf is a trusted haircare brand, and this is by far their most successful product line.
Spray Got2b on the beard and shape with the help of a hair dryer. Use got2b gel or spiking wax to style that perfect mustache (The days of old-school mustache wax are over!). These products hold for multiple days if they have to. Like all long-lasting styling poducts, these do have some drying effect on the hair, so use the next product and I promise you won't regret it...
Whether you grow your own beard, or you wear a designer yak/human beard, you will be AMAZED at the difference this stuff makes. Moist hair holds curl longer, is more lustrous, and is softer to the touch! A Broadway Hair Dresser first gave me this mask and I'll never go back. *ESPECIALLY IF YOUR HAIR IS BLEACHED. ASK YOUR BARBER. YOU NEED TO PAMPER THAT HAIR.*
Use it every few showers, or twice a season for designer beards. I use it all year long on my own hair!
If you read about the Got2b Glued hairspray for beards, you already know why I'm recommending this. Conair is a great brand and this is a wonderful hair dryer with an all-important cool blast button which is often hard to find on travel size dryers. It's also a beautiful addition to your color-coordinated Santa gear.
Any experienced beard wearing Santa will recommend this tape, and for good reason! It's long-lasting and easy to use. I use this on the SIDES of my beard to hold it in place, then I use it on my chin along with some telesis (below) along the lace line to "melt" it into my skin.
It's called a thinner, but it works as a primer for the adhesive. This is a totally necessary part of the process. The difference in adhesion is night and day!
This is the adhesive itself. It can only be removed with Telesis Super Solv.
This is the only remover that works with Telesis adhesive. It's oil based and gentle on skin. Use this to clean the glue from your face and from the wig lace.
*You can't get all these products reliably on Amazon, so I'm linking you to my favorite professional make-up store, Alcone New York *
My colleagues who design wigs for Hollywood and Broadway use this product almost exclusively to adhere lace wigs, beards, and mustaches. My wig maker promised never to work with me again if I ever used another product.
A little goes a long way, and the adhesive itself will last you a long time.
(You may have heard about Pros Aide, but this is the modern industry standard for wigs and is much easier to use and clean. Pros Aide is used for prosthetics, hence the name.)
I'll bet you didn't know this product comes in ivory!* The slight yellow tint matches so well with the other hair pieces we Santas tend to wear, especially yak.
*Once again, cannot be reliably found on Amazon, but get it from Alcone or Manhattan Wardrobe in New York.
Sarah Norton has been making wigs and facial hair for Broadway's stars for a number of years.
I don't sell anything, but Amazon may give me a small commission when you use my links.
The price is the same for you.
If I make enough every year to cover the $20 Url address, I'm happy!
